Merging notes in Cleft allows you to combine the content of multiple notes into a single note, useful for consolidating related information or creating a more comprehensive document from separate thoughts.
Select the notes you want to merge:
On iOS and iPadOS: Press and hold on a note, then tap additional notes to select them.
On macOS: Hold the Command ⌘ key and click on the notes you want to merge.
Once you've selected the notes, look for the merge option:
On mobile devices: Tap the "..." menu at the bottom of the screen and select "Merge".
On macOS: Right-click on one of the selected notes and choose "Merge" from the context menu.
Cleft will combine the content of the selected notes into a new note.
Review the merged note and make any necessary edits or adjustments.
The merged note will contain the content of all selected notes in the order they were selected.
Tags from the original notes will be combined in the merged note (up to the maximum of three tags).
The title of the merged note will be generated based on the combined content.
Original notes remain unchanged after merging. You can choose to delete them if no longer needed.
Consider the logical order of your notes before merging to ensure a coherent flow in the final document.
Use merging to create summary notes or to compile information on a specific topic from various sources.
After merging, take a moment to review and refine the combined note for clarity and organization.
You can merge up to 2 notes at a time.
Audio recordings are not merged; only the text content is combined.
By using the merge feature effectively, you can create more comprehensive and organized notes, bringing together related ideas and information from across your Cleft library.
