Images, Files & Photos

Cleft allows you to enhance your notes by adding images, files and photos.

On macOS

  1. Open the note where you want to add an image or photo and move to "write" view.

  2. Select the "Add Image" or "Insert Photo" option, usually represented by a camera or image icon.

  3. Select the source of your image:

    • Choose from your device's photo library

    • Take a new photo (on mobile devices)

    • Select a file from your computer (on desktop)

  4. Once selected, the image will be inserted into your note.

Supported image types

Cleft supports common image formats, including:

  • JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)

  • PNG (.png)

  • GIF (.gif)

  • HEIC (on supported devices)

Tips for using images in notes

  • Use images to illustrate complex concepts

  • Add screenshots to provide visual context

  • Include photos of handwritten notes or sketches

  • Keep image sizes reasonable to maintain note loading speed
