Duplicate notes
Duplicate notes to create a new note with the same content
Duplicating notes in Cleft allows you to create an exact copy of an existing note. This feature is useful when you want to preserve the original content while making modifications to a new version.
How to duplicate a note
Open the note you want to duplicate.
Look for the "More options" or "..." menu, usually located in the top-right corner of the note.
Select the "Duplicate" option from the menu.
Cleft will create an exact copy of the note, including all content, tags, and attachments.
The new duplicate note will open automatically, allowing you to make any desired changes.
When to use duplicate notes
Create a template from an existing note structure
Experiment with different versions of the same idea
Preserve the original content while making significant changes
Create a series of similar notes with slight variations
Tips for using duplicate notes effectively
Rename the duplicated note immediately to avoid confusion
Consider adding a tag like "duplicate" or "version" to track multiple copies
Use the duplicate feature in combination with merging notes for advanced note organization
Limitations
Duplicating a note does not create a link between the original and the copy
Any changes made to the duplicate will not affect the original note
By using the duplicate feature wisely, you can maintain different versions of your ideas and create a more organized and flexible note-taking system in Cleft.
