Cleft offers integration with Obsidian, allowing you to seamlessly sync your notes between the two platforms. This feature enables you to capture thoughts in Cleft and have them automatically appear in your Obsidian vault.
Obsidian integrates on macOS only - if you create a note on mobile please add to it on desktop to make it sync across
Open Cleft on your macOS device.
Go to Settings (press ⌘ + ,
or click the gear icon).
Navigate to the "Integrations" tab.
Find the Obsidian section and click "Connect to Obsidian".
Choose the Obsidian vault you want to sync with Cleft.
Select a folder within your vault where Cleft notes will be saved.
Once set up, the integration works automatically:
Create a new note in Cleft using voice or text input.
The note will be processed and formatted according to your custom instructions.
Cleft will automatically sync the note to your selected Obsidian vault and folder.
Open Obsidian to view and edit your Cleft notes alongside your other notes.
Automatic syncing: Notes created in Cleft appear in Obsidian without manual export.
Markdown support: Cleft notes are saved in Markdown format, compatible with Obsidian's ecosystem.
Customizable save location: Choose which folder in your Obsidian vault receives Cleft notes.
Bidirectional sync: Changes made in Obsidian will sync back to Cleft (coming soon).
Use consistent tagging in Cleft to organize notes within Obsidian.
Leverage Obsidian's powerful linking features to connect ideas from Cleft with your existing notes.
Use Cleft for quick capture and initial processing, then refine and expand in Obsidian.
The Obsidian integration is currently available only on macOS.
Audio files are not synced to Obsidian, only the transcribed and processed text.
