On MacOS press ⌘ + N on your keyboard or select "new voice note". Press space to pause/reume. Press ⏎ to finish your note.

On iPadOS press the orange "➕" button. Press pause/resume or finish your note.

Cleft makes a sound when you start and complete a note, or hit your recording limit

Cleft will make aping sound notification to let you know if it cannot hear you in the first 10 seconds of your note.
