Made a mistake? Want to add more detail? Open any note and tap the pencil icon to edit. Your changes save automatically.

Making Changes

Tap into your note to start editing. You can change any text, add new paragraphs, or remove what you don’t need. When you’re done, tap Done.
  • Rename your note — Tap the title at the top to change it. A good title makes notes easier to find later.
  • Undo a mistake — Tap the undo button in the toolbar (iOS), or press ⌘ + Z on Mac. Redo with the redo button or ⌘ + ⇧ + Z.
  • Find specific text — On Mac, press ⌘ + F to search within a note and replace words or phrases.
Each note shows when it was created and last updated, so you always know how recent your information is.

Summaries

Cleft creates a summary of your note automatically. If you want a fresh summary — for example, after changing your custom instructions — long-press the note (iOS) or right-click it (Mac) and choose Rewrite. You can also edit the transcript directly, and Cleft will offer to rewrite your summary to match.
Changed your custom instructions? Rewrite existing notes to get them in your new style.

Formatting

Your notes can include:
  • Bold, italic, and strikethrough text
  • Headings to break up sections
  • Bullet and numbered lists
  • Quotes for important points
  • Code snippets and links
Cleft applies formatting automatically based on your custom instructions, or you can format text yourself in the editor.
All changes sync across your devices automatically. See Syncing Notes for details.
