Long-press (iOS) or right-click (macOS) any note to access these actions:
  • Copy (C) — Copy the note content to your clipboard
  • Copy Transcript — Copy the raw transcript only
  • Share — Send the note via share sheet or shareable link (macOS context menu; iOS via toolbar)
  • Send to Notion (⌥P) — Export directly to a Notion database
  • Continue — Append more audio to an existing note
  • Duplicate — Create a copy of the note
  • Merge — Combine two selected notes into one
  • Rewrite — Regenerate the summary from the transcript (macOS context menu; iOS via toolbar)
  • Archive / Unarchive (⌘⇧A) — Move notes in or out of your archive
  • Delete — Permanently remove the note
Select two notes to unlock the Merge option — useful for combining related thoughts.

Multi-Select

Select multiple notes for bulk operations:
  • Delete multiple notes at once
  • Archive or unarchive in bulk
  • Add or remove tags across selected notes
On macOS, use ⌘ + Click to select individual notes or ⇧ + Click for a range.

Audio Playback

Tap the play button on any voice note to listen back:
  • Play / Pause with a scrubber to jump to any point
  • Speed controls — 1x, 1.5x, or 2x playback
  • On iPhone, the player opens as a sheet; on macOS and iPad, it plays inline

Storage

  • Audio is transcribed locally — Speech-to-text runs on your device using Whisper, so your audio is never sent to AI partners
  • Audio syncs to Cleft’s servers — Recordings upload to Cleft for cross-device access and sharing, but are never shared with third-party LLM providers like OpenAI
  • Note data syncs — Titles, transcripts, and summaries sync across your devices
  • Offline support — Notes created without a connection sync automatically when you’re back online
Only the text transcript is sent to AI for summarization — your audio stays between you and Cleft. Cleft is an Irish company and all data is stored in the EU. Learn more in our Trust Center.
